Hi Everyone,

I am currently a Canadian undergrad student interested in US medical schools since I am not competitive at any Ontario schools 🙁 . I have a cGPA of 3.78 and a MCAT of 514 (129/127/130/128). I was wondering if I even have a shot at mid-high tier MD schools with my stats and should I retake my MCAT since its too low (might retake anyway since way too low for Canadian schools but I know US don't like retakes). In terms of ECs I have:
~100 Hours of shadowing
~500 Hours of volunteering (clinical and community based with high risk kids and homeless)
research (2 co-authors in journals with IF>10), multiple research positions, presents at an international conference/abstracts.
Scholarships and awards over ~$25,000 (mostly research scholarships but other merit scholarships as well)
Other small leadership positions such as mentoring and club executive.
Thank you all for your help! I would greatly appreciate

Well it depends somewhat on your definition of "mid tier." I do think most top 20 schools would be difficult considering your non citizenship status and MCAT below their averages. With that said, I think you stand a fair shot at private schools the likes of Temple, Jefferson, Miami with your stats. Just apply broadly OP. I would not retake that MCAT

I definitely wouldn't retake a 514 that includes 129 and 130 for the science sections
