chances into med school

hi
im a dentist from india and am intrested in gettin into medical school ,what are the procedures to do the same .take mcat? do i get credits for subjects that has been done in dentistry .any inputs would be appreciated...

Welcome, Talon. 90 credits of classes must taken in the U.S. or Canada, preferably including general chemistry, physics, biology, and organic chemistry (all with lab), then the MCAT. U.S. medical schools ordinarily don't grant advanced standing and especially so for work completed overseas.

I do not know if you need 90 credits of classes if you already have an undergrad degree from another country. That is certainly the rule for US students (we do not technically need a BS/BA to start medical school). However, you will need to do the standard post-bac premed coursework as they will not take your courses from dental school. That usually comes to about 40 or so credits US.

I was a foreigner and I was referring to his case in particular as a foreigner. I should have made that clear.... One or two schools will let you away with just 60 U.S. credits, but 95% want > 90.
