I know everyone asks this for their individual situations, but wanted to see what the community thought about my chances of getting an interview/being accepted to SUNY. Just took the OAT today and received the following scores:

QR: 320
RC: 400
BIO: 290
Gen Chem: 330
Orgo: 290
PHYS: 320
TS: 310
AA: 330

Below average, but I'm hoping not disastrously so!
Background info: I majored in marketing and graduated in '16, worked for two years in marketing, then went back to school to take all the necessary science classes to apply. My GPA from undergrad was 3.5, my science GPA from the classes I've just taken is 3.75.
Also, I noticed that on the SUNY class stats page there are far more females than males in a class. Is this because more females are applying? Does being a male help your chances of getting in?

Thanks!

I would aim to at least get above 300 in each section, particularly if you’re aiming for SUNY.

You may still get in, but it would greatly improve your odds to score better on the OAT (if you plan to retake). GPA seems okay. Any extracurriculars?

And yes, typically more females apply than males, which tends to make the classes female dominant. State schools are not allowed to socially engineer their classes, however, so your gender can’t play a role in whether or not you will be accepted.

Good luck!

Currently in SUNY. I'd say they weigh OAT scores pretty heavily, which may hold you back a little bit. I'd aim for at least a 320 in each section with your GPA score. However, applying early with good extracurriculars may carry you and lead to an interview. Can't say for sure, but being a male most likely won't contribute to their decision.
