MD, no failures, very low step 1, 222 step 2. 10 interviews, would imagine I am in the bottom 1/4 on 8 of them. Chances to match?

Depends on tier of institution, interview performance, competitiveness of the places you've ranked.

The only thing anyone can tell you is that ranking 10 places puts you at a high chance of matching, as per the outcomes report.

You need to give more stats for us to tell. Your 222 on step 2 might offset your low step 1 a little bit.

I know someone who didn't match, but it was mostly likely due to poor application strategy. Any US MD applicant without red flags should easily match somewhere decent. There are a small number of people with 8+ interviews each year who don't match, but I imagine most of them have severe interview problems or have something come up (like a Step 2 failure) between ERAS submission and ranking time.

Usually US MDs are still able to get a spot. But, it is harder. Programs are looking at Step scores in Psychiatry now. Things are definitely getting more competitive.
