Chances of Secondary applications

I may apply to 18 or so schools. My stats are 3.23 Ugrad GPA, 14 hours of 4.0postbac which makes it out to about 3.3GPA, 3.3 ScGpa. My DAT scores are 23AA/21TS/26PAT. I worked 6 years as an engineer.

If I apply to 18 schools, does this mean I'll be filling out 18 secondaries? Will some schools filter me out right away and not even send me a secondary.? I heard schools want the money so even if they will reject you, so you'll spend time filling out a secondary for nothing.

Some schools have everyone fill out a secondary immediately, some wait til they have your primary application so they can make sure you meet their minimum requirements first before sending you a secondary, and some schools only send you a secondary if they're going to give you an interview...but they ask for a check immediately. Those are the ones where I feel like I'm burning money. But it's a good gamble I guess.
