  1. Pre-Dental
1. Is it still possible to get in with C's, D, F, and a W? I retook the D and the F and got A's in both.
2. Schools to apply suggestions? Stats: sGPA 2.9-3.0 oGPA: 3.1-3.2
3. How long does it take for the application to be verified. I am scared my application would be considered late and I wouldn't want that.
I was trying to take a science easy elective at a CC which ends on june 24th. I will also be taking the DAT on july 7th. Would it be late till my application actually gets submitted? Would you guys recommend taking the summer class or not? I was only going to do that to raise my science gpa

1) Most schools want a minimum of a "C" (especially for the pre-requisites). If you retook and got a C or higher, you're good.
2) Mainly private schools (ideally the newer ones). Consider buying the latest ADEA dental school guide or looking at some of @doc toothache old spreadsheets for a compilation of dental school GPA/DAT averages and apply accordingly (and broadly).
3) I don't recall exactly, but it didn't take too long. A 2-3 weeks, maybe? I always suggest applying as early as possible, but if you want to still be considered "early," then submit your application no later than August. By the way, you can submit your AADSAS before taking your DAT. The score can be uploaded at a later time, though schools don't usually review your application until everything is in. Taking science classes to bring your GPA up is a great idea, but taking an easier course (especially at a CC) coupled with your low GPA isn't exactly what dental school would want to see.

Just curious, have you started studying or taking practice DATs yet? If so, what are you scores so far? Because of your subpar GPA, you'll definitely want at least a 22/23+ to offset your stats.

Regardless of all that, you might have a long path ahead unfortunately. I'm not too familiar with post-bac or SMP programs/classes, but I'm sure many here would recommend them to you.

Anyways, best of luck~

To help nail the DAT: Feralis bio notes, DAT/math destroyer, and crack the DAT PAT helped me a lot in addition to AP bio cliffs and chad's videos. I also had a couple Cs and Bs on my transcript, but it wasn't a big deal. Good luck on your app!

1. Yes, I had Cs, Ds, and Ws on my transcripts and did not replace all of them.
2. Depends on your DAT
3. It's not ideal because you're not giving yourself a chance to retake, but an increasing number of schools are looking for "one and done" because a lot of schools compare themselves to each other using pass-on-first-attempt for major exams like NERB. Should take a few weeks for GPA verification and transcripts. Yes to the summer class if you're confident about it.

Yea I wanted to do good the first time rather than give myself a chance to retake.
