I am a junior who plans to apply for the 2015 cycle. I had a crappy freshman year and my only B's and my one C came from those two semesters. Seeing my bad GPA kicked me into gear and thus far I have earned a 4.0 in every semester since. My GPA is rising, but the C is killing me.

Chemistry 1- A
Chemistry 2- A-
Organic 1- A
Organic 2- A
Physics 1- A
Microbiology- A
Genetics- A
Immunology- A
Physiology- A
Molecular Biology- A
Statistics- B
Calculus 1- C

Biomedical Sciences Major and Medical Anthropology Minor
3.72 Overall GPA;
4.0 Upper division GPA
3.74 Science GPA

My biggest concern is my math GPA. I know that medical schools do not count a separate math GPA but I can't help but feel that they will see my C and B in my only math classes and that could hurt me.

Other stuff:
Campus Involvement: 300+ hours from executive boards, leadership, etc.
Research: Independent study but writing an Honors thesis on my research; biostatistical internship this summer; clinical internship this summer
Clinical experience: none, big problem, I know. Plan on doing some in the spring and summer
Shadowing: Infectious Disease and General Practice ~50 hours

I am not worried about the MCAT. I anticipate between a 33-36.
I have great professors/ advisors to write letters.

I am a white male and gay.

My main questions are:

What level schools will I qualify for?
Will medical schools be willing to forgive my freshman year mistakes for an otherwise perfect record? (upward trend)?
Should I retake Calculus or take Statistics 2? Or should I do both?
I will not have Physics 2 or Organic Lab done before I apply but both will be done my fall semester after applying. Is this horrible?

Thank you for your advice!

you seem pretty good.

level of school: take the MCAT first then we can tell you. your GPA is solid as of now. its nothing extraordinary, but its not bad. you'll be landing safely in the average ranges for almost all the schools you apply to.

forgiveness: it was one C, theyll see that you did much better continuing on. in my opinion, dont retake calculus, id go for classes you can get an A in.

classes: as long as you have the classes done by matriculation it should be okay. most schools allow for that. you may have to write it in somewhere in your app. no big deal

rock the MCAT, apply broad and early, then freak out and panic til you get interview invites and acceptances
thats the life
