I am curious as to my chances of getting into a good school:

Overall GPA: 3.73
Science GPA: 3.74
MCAT: 523
Race: White
Leadership:
-President/Founder of an organization focused on bringing a diverse population of students towards a cause of benefitting the underrepresented minorities in a town close to my University (2.5 years). This actually tied into a not-for-profit organization that I recently started up.
-Vice President President of a social service organization on campus
-Director of a leadership conference through my University's student center (2.5 years)
-Research Assistant in a lab working on cancer with 1000+ hours of research and 2 publications and mentoring students (4 years)
-Tutoring at local high school with 300 hours (2.5 years)
-A full summer in India working at a Leprosy Clinic (900 hours)
-600 hours in a free clinic close to my University
Additional ECs:
-Volunteer with 500 hours in Emergency Department at a hospital affiliated with one of my top choices in Texas Medical Center (4 years)
-AMSA member
-1 internship at University of Cambridge w/ 1 publication in cancer
-Player for University's Men's Soccer Team
Shadowing:
-450 hours of shadowing variety of about 30 doctors
LORs: Strong

MY STORY:

By the end of my spring semester of sophomore year, I had a 3.2ish GPA. I had Q-dropped 2 classes: Engineering Physics and Statistics. I switched majors. I got a C in Biology 2, Chemistry 1, and Chemistry Lab 2. I retook my statistics and got a B. Up until Junior year I did HORRIBLE. I had issues at home with my family, father losing job, father remarrying, and I did not know what I was doing - I kind of just did it to please my father.

Junior, Senior, and Super-Senior years were WAY different. I reevaluated what I wanted. I got a 523 on my MCAT. All As (literally not one B) and heavy semesters. I published in multiple areas. I started my club which is now going to become a non-profit. I tutored in the subjects I got Cs in. I boosted my GPA way up to a 3.7ish.

I feel like I have a story, but I need opinions. I want to apply next cycle and really want a top school.

What are my chances of getting into a top 10 school, top 20 school, and top 30 school? My top choices are Harvard, UNC, Baylor University, and UT McGovern.

If you are a Texas resident you have great chances at those Texas schools, you will also have good chances at any school really.

Congratulations on all your achievements! It seems like you went through a really tough time in your personal life, but you go through it and are now a stellar applicant to medical school!

I am not an expert, but it seems to me that you certainly have a shot at any of those schools.
Top 10- solid chance
Top 20- Better than solid chance
Top 30- High chance

Don’t sell yourself short, apply early, and apply broadly. I don’t see any reason why you can’t get in to at least one or more of your top choices. Good luck!

If you’re not a narc or let it show during interviews you should be good.
