I'm a Junior and a Chemistry major. My GPA is a 3.3 and I know it is going to drop to a 3.2 after this semester. I got a C in Orgo 1 and I am pretty sure I'm getting a C in Orgo 2. This will be my 2nd C in college. I am planning to take my DATs this coming spring and applying to Dental school next summer. I have plenty of shadowing hours, I have done two semesters of research, and I hold officer positions different student organizations.

I really want some feedback on my chances of getting in/ what i can do to improve my chances. I've heard of a lot of people getting rejected and I'm getting really nervous about getting into school.

Thank you in advance!

take advanced chem classes. get A's. Get A's in all your classes (i know, easier said than done, but it's worth the effort), That GPA can easily be brought up. pick and choose your classes carefully, and it may even look good to take a larger courseload and excel. make sure you rock your orgo section on the DATS.

make sure you do some fun EC's and not just student orgs IMO.

Also note that i didnt do well in orgo I, II, ( B C) and studying orgo for the dat landed me a 20 (which happened to be my lowest score on any section) which was more than sufficient to make up for a sup par course grade.
howerver, study now while you can and learn as much as you can while taking orgo. it WILL help come time to study for the DAT.

good luck & apply once the cycle opens
