  1. Pre-Dental
Hello everyone! I am a Texas resident and will be applying for 2013 admissions for the three dental schools in Texas. I am a science major and want to be anonymous as possible.

My Academic Stats
3.85-3.92 cGPA
3.81-3.88 sGPA

DAT
AA- 20-24
TS- 20-24
PAT- 18-22

EC/Details
2 Leadership positions, one was a minor position, the other starting next year.
30-50 hours of Shadowing.
40-70 hours of Volunteering (MISC.).
Involved in 3-5 organizations.
No work or research experience.
4 letters of recommendation, a dentist, 2 professors, an adviser. (I'm sure they're not bad letters, but probably not stellar.)
Planning to do work study next school year.
Averaged about 12-13 semester hours.

I know I have above average academic stats, but there are people who do get rejected with great stats. Are my ECs good enough? My application seems so blank. I am also a young applicant, turning 20 this summer. I do not have any huge life experiences. Thanks!

virtually a shoe-in for tx schools

You're stats are great. Better than most that I have seen. You will most definitely get an interview (as long as you don't try to get into ridiculous schools like Harvard). Oh make sure your personal statement is checked by others before you send it.

Now brush up on your talking skills and get ready for your future interview.

People told me I have a good shot to get interviews. I just feel my ECs are lacking. I mean people here post they have 1000+ volunteering hours and 200+ shadowing hours and it is a bit intimidating. Thank yall for all the replies. Good luck to everyone who are also applying!

1000+ volunteer hours and other stuff, yeah that's cool and all, but how about their grades they just as good as yours?

Probably not. Any bag of flesh can volunteer hours to do some random stuff. But it takes something special to get grades like yours. Those grades of yours took dedication and time. Its definitely greater than the time volunteering.

Sure people may disagree and many will think I'm being an ass about it, but its reality.

Can't accept it go cry to your momma.

Haha thanks dude. I am less worried now. Just got to finish this application!
