Change DAT in 2013?

Hi, guys. I'm planning on taking the DAT late January, and have heard rumors that the test will change in 2013? Does anyone know anything about this? I'm asking in terms of test format, content, basically anything related to the test.

Are you talking about what is discussed on slides 5 - 7? Or are there other proposed changes?

Yep thats what I am referring too. Will all those things such as trig and geometry be eliminated come 2013? I don't want to waste time memorizing stuff that now has a 0% chance of showing up 😕

• 2013 - Critical thinking items will be pretested.
• 2013-2014 - Pretesting data collected, item
performance and quality evaluated.
– Pretested items scores will not be part of QRT
score.
• 2015 critical thinking included in QRT score.

Well does pretesting mean that it'll be part of the score or are there just going to be random questions that are being "pretested" in the sense that they don't count for your score but they're just putting them in for data collecting purposes?

I was assuming it'd be the latter because it says that critical thinking would be included in the QRT score in 2015, but maybe someone can call them and check.

Ya I think its the latter. I'll definitely email them since its provided in the powerpoint. This quarter is super busy for me but I'll try to update whenever I get a response.
