Change in date for Dean's letter release - 2012

It looks like MSPE will be going out a month earlier, October 1st, than in previous cycles. Just curious if anyone in academics has heard any opinions on this.

Historically, it seems that Radiation Oncology as a field tends to wait to offer interviews until after receiving the deans letter. So I guess the question is, do you think this change will effect interview offers or dates in a significant way?

My feeling is that the traditional timing for interviews has more to do with other factors (ASTRO, etc) than it does with the Dean's letter. I don't think this is a specialty that cares too much about that letter, but I am sure that is program-dependent.
