change interview date?

Does it look ok to change your interview date, if it is still over a month away? Has anyone done this and what was their reaction?

I did this (and eneded up cancelling later anyway) and they were very receptive.

I did this a few times and even ended up ranking #1 and matching at one I originally changed. No problems, as long as they have an open spot. One place even fit me into an already full schedule.
