Change mind on EDP

Can you change your mind on an EDP app BEFORE the decision is released?

I did much much better on my MCAT than expected and now have a slew of options I didn't anticipate having.

The Catch: I had already applied to the EDP of a school in my state.

Can I call since the application deadline hasn't passed and I haven't interviewed or anything and switch it to the regular decision pile or am I already bound?

You can try to call your state school and get out of it, but if at any point they ask you why do NOT say what you said here about having options etc Haha

You can't. The EDP is binding.

Does anyone have personal experience with a situation like this??

You can call and ask, but I doubt that you will get the answer that you want to hear. It's EDP for a reason. Here are the scenarios:

1) You can't get out of EDP. You get accepted in October. You're going to med school.
2) You can't get out of EDP. You get rejected in October. Apply (late) to other schools.
3) You get out of EDP and apply now.

I guess you could get out of EDP at that school, but I would write off getting into that school because I'm pretty sure any adcom would reject someone in a regular admission that backed out of EDP for the only reason anyone would...more/better options available or wanted
