So I interviewed at Case Western today... and all I can say is that I've never been surrounded by so many nice people. The facilities are beautiful, the staff is great ... and the faculty was SO welcoming. I'm actually very surprised, and part of me was hoping I wouldn't like it (since I so badly want to match in the NY tri-state area)....... but I'm thoroughly impressed. Definitely re-thinking my entire game plan

So is everyone going to be sending emails or hand written notes? I was thinking of writing hand-written notes, but a friend of mine who is an intern told me that he sent emails last year (so the person who received it would be able to write back quickly). Thoughts ... comments ??

Hey,

I rotated there a few months ago. Case Western program is really great, faculty is amazing and very supportive. The residents are very cool. Glad that your interview went well 👍

I hand-wrote a thank you note to one program that I interviewed so far. I read that you can type your note in a formal letter head then attach a quick hand written note and send them together to the program. But that could take up a lot of time and efforts...

My interview at Case is on 10/29 😉

My thoughts are that, just like everything, it depends.

If the person interviewing you seemed old-school and not computer wise, default to the hand written note. If you don't think they'd be that comfortable in front of a keyboard, i don't see why you'd use that medium to thank them.

If the person's younger, and by extension, likely more tech savvy, an email may be more appropriate.
