Hello,
I have a question regarding changing residencies. I am a PGY1, and a bit concerned about some issues at my hospital. I cannot go into details on this site, but I will say we are lacking 2 of the major players, i.e. Residency Director and Asst. Dir. According to the hospital, they have found replacements, although will not give any info regarding this.
The only way I found out prior to July 1, was because I did my own research, after trying to speak with the Dir. of medicine, to no avail. The hospital never told anyone, and has still yet to make a public announcement.
Also, one plus to this program was that we had 3 electives the 1st year, which has been reduced to only 1. This is also a concern to me, due to my fellowship.
Also, on the current web site, the old Dir and Asst. Dir are still listed, making future residents believe they still have these high profile MD's on staff.
Do you think I am wrong for being concerned about the Dir and Asst Dir of Medical Residency being missing in action?
If there is no replacement found soon, I will beging to think about a different residency. How would one go about applying to a PGY2 spot?
