Hi every one. does any body applied for Chapman school of pharmacy? Or does any body have any information about this school?I know that it has a candidate status, but one of my friend visited the school, and as he said the school is one of the best schools in the southern california. What is the chance the school do not get full accreditation

Read up on Hawaii College of Pharmacy if you're worried about accreditation. It is not worth risking $150k+ and a few years years only to have your school get shut down, leaving you with a ton of debt and no degree.

Is hawaii the only instance of this happening ? I recall humblesloth saying something about several pharm schools it happened to

I hope you took the opportunity to apply to Chapman. Like your friend noticed, we aren't like other new schools of pharmacy.

As for accreditation, the risk of us not getting full accreditation is very, very low. For one, we already have candidate status, and I am not aware of any school that has gotten candidate status that didn't get full accreditation.

And as for the Hilo example people keep throwing out there. That was a completely different situation. They didn't even apply for accreditation, they just started up their school. That's why they were shut down. The schools that really have problems, don't ever get to the pre-candidate status level, because the accreditors will not let them take students. And there are a bunch of schools that have been in that situation over the years, including some in California. But again, there are no schools that I have heard of that have gotten candidate status and not gotten full accreditation.
