Cheapest Vet School

Hi everyone..
I'm Currently going to SFSU, I have 1 more year till I get my B.S. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a cheap Vet Med school out of state. I live in California and the only school we have is UC Davis and I honestly think Its impossible to get there.

http://www.aavmc.org/data/files/vmcas/general school info chart_2012_final.pdf this chart has compiled data on tuition for instate and out of state. the one thing to keep in mind is that this does not include expenses and cost of living, which can add up fast. you're probably looking at $15-20K a year for everything else not tuition.

honestly, there really is no such thing as a "cheap" OOS school. even many of the in state schools are very expensive. you could try moving to a state with a tuition that fits what you're looking for and establishing residency before applying. thats probably my biggest recommendation if you're looking to pay better tuition. just make sure you look into what it takes to be considered a resident of the state first!

Cumulative 4 yr tuition at US CVMs, assuming 7% increase per year. Listed by non-resident tuition, highest to lowest. Four schools allow you to switch from non-resident to resident after your first year and that is already reflected in this chart.

Here's cumulative 4 yr total cost of attendance for US CVMs, ie tuition plus cost of living, assuming 5% per year increase. Cost of living figures used are those provided by each school as required by the US DOE to participate in federal loan programs.

To be fair Western doesn't give instate preference so it doesn't count as a state school the way Davis does.

And Western is certainly NOT a cheaper alternative.
