All honors, high Step 1/2x, AOA (if applicable), research with many publications/presentations in your specific field, PhD (in some fields), excellent networking, great LORs, relevant ECs, lots of national honors, awards, scholarships.

How do you get honors/awards/scholarships? Through research?

Also, "relevant ECs"?? Like free clinic type stuff?

This is starting to sound a lot like getting into med school.

Most professional organizations, such as the American college of surgery, etc, have honors, scholarships, etc, for research, service, the like.

Also, "relevant ECs"?? Like free clinic type stuff?

Medical missions etc may be useful for the right specialty.

This is starting to sound a lot like getting into med school.

Residency/fellowship apps are more about who you know then med school.
