So here's my situation: I am scheduled to take a placement exam in a week for my freshman year at undergrad this year to see if i can take chem 200 instead of taking chem 100. I took chem my junior year. did ok but don't really remember much from it.

So what is the best choice:
1. Study for placement exam and try get into 200
2. Not worry about it and just see how it goes

Will d-schools look at it negatively for someone taking chem 100 instead of starting with 200, even if i got an A in 100?

thankyou!

Haha, I hope not! I had to do the same thing; somehow I had missed having chemistry in high school (no class requirements, just total science credits), I took a chem 100 course and got an A. If you have to take it, you have to take it - I'll bet it's better to get some review than to jump into the higher level class and do miserably because you had forgotten the basics.

However, if you do really well on that placement test, then you'll probably do fine in chem 200, especially if you brush up on things first. Good luck with your decision. 🙂
