I was wondering if a person wants to go to either medical school or pharmacy school but is not good in general chemistry would it be better for them to go to medical school instead. My best friend will ace an bio course, but when it comes to chem it is C's all the way and even thats a struggle..Im a bit of the same way but I have start to begin to understand things a lot better now, but she is still lost. I thought that med school was a lot harder than pharm school from word of mouth but not sure..can anyone shed any light for me. Like if you are stronger in bio go to med and if stronger in chem go the pharm route?

If you're strong in chem, do chem. If you're strong in bio, do bio.

Pharm and Medicine are completely different, independent fields. However one thing they share is immense amounts of memorization.

Do pharmacy for an interest in explaining treatments to patients, understanding how a poison can be used within the body to treat, [all drugs are poisons hence pharmacology from the greek pharmakos (poison, or drug) and logos meaning effect] and the effects of having these drugs within the system.

Medicine aims to understand the body as well, however with an emphasis on diagnosis. A "typical" physician will be trained in making diagnosis and then selecting an evidence based treatment for a given set of Sx (symptoms). Of course in both professions there's a very wide margin of practice, a physician make never make a dx, and a pharmacist may never have to explain a drug to a patient.
