U of C seems like the "gunner" program with overnight call and a huge pgy1 program, high expectations and whatnot but location/facility isn't great. I have no doubt that you'd learn a lot there. Northwestern is easily the best location and most glamorous. it's a block off michigan ave! Clinically it seemed as good as any of the big hospitals with standard staffing requirement. Lots of names I've seen from the literature is always a good sign.

Northshore is smaller and more community focused, but Stan Kent is serious business in ASHP.

Heard good things about UIC; not so much about Rush.

The CPS resident's seemed happy. I did a rotation with CPS/Mercy.I also did a rotation with Rush in 2009 and spent alot of time chatting with the residents. They all seemed rather disillusioned by the experience.I had a friend at Northwestern two years ago and she hated it.I heard good things about the VA.
