Hi, I am a senior now in an American high school and I am really interested in medicine so I want to be a doctor. I am sure that I will finish my undergraduate in the US as well. And my family hopefully can give me enough support to go to the med school. However, I researched online that it was super hard for foreign students, who are not the permanent residents or US citizens here to get in the med schools, is it true? What can I do with it if I really want to go to a med school in here?

Its hard but not impossible. You have to be outstanding. Do lots of research, Various meaningful leadership activities, apply early, have a great GPA and MCAT score, meanigful clinical activities. Volunteer a lot, and shadow doctors. Of you think you need more than 4 years, take your time. Make your application stand out. Most school that will take international students are mostly the private ones.

I would that she should do all you mentioned and apply when she receive her green card. OP sounds like she is international

Thanks a lot with your advice. I think I would probably major in economics and then study the MCAT and prepare for the medical school. If it doesn't work for me well, I guess I am going to continue on the economics.
