Hi everyone,

I signed up for the DAT 2 weeks from now but I am thinking of pushing it back so that I will have more time to study destroyer. At my study rate (which is slow because I am making sure I know the material fully), I'll only be able to go through destroyer completely once.

Should I push my date back so that I can go through destroyer twice or three times?

Thanks.

I'm taking it on Aug. 13th and am planning on finishing the destroyer twice within those next two weeks.

I did destroyer once entirely and I went over the answers at once. when I went over the answers I kinda answered again so that I go over destroyer "twice" in a minimum time and check my previous answer and my current answer and the answer key. That saved me a lot of time.
I did spend more time learning the explanation at the end of the destroyer which is more helpful than going over the destroyer questions several times.

I cannot tell you to postpone your exam because your current date is in mid-August which is already little late to apply this cycle...

Good luck to you!

I havnt taken it yet, but if I feel like im not ready and I can study more and do much better than y not? your applying next year too so why rush it?

How long have you been studying? From what my friends who have taken it (and done well) they say you only really need a good month or 2 tops. I'd take it and not push it back but only if you have put in a good month or 2 of hard work. Good luck!

I put in total 8 weeks for DAT (5- 6 hrs daily) and in that time with all other material i went through Destroyer twice...second time I was not looking at the answers just timing my self to see how much I can achieve....and was making about 19- 20 (orgo and GC) on them....my real score was 22 and 21 respectively....so if you think you are comfortable taking DAT ....there is no reason to push it back ...also if you are timing your self you will go faster finishing Destroyer .... and if you get reasonable score for destroyer you will be fine ...real organic is much easier than Destroyer...GC is little comparable but still on easy side.

why are you worrying if you are not applying this cycle?
take the exam when you feel you are ready for it, you have no reason to rush

Thanks again for the replies everyone.

did you mean getting 19-20 out of 30 problems in destroyer?
