Assuming we get to choose from a multitude of interviews, I'm curious how other people will be deciding on their top 10 to 15 places they're going to interview? Location? Cost of living? Close to family? Reputation? Perks offered?
By looking at websites and the information the places send, it's really difficult to notice the differences that must obviously be there. When I did my month of anesthesiology at my home institution, I talked some of this over with the residents and they gave me some tips and talked over places they had interviewed, but most of them were mainly interested in the midwest/Chicago/St. Louis area and I'd like to try and branch out.
I would say a majority of them said, in the end, they chose where to rank based on how much they liked the city and the location being close to family/friends. And of course, the vibe (etc) they got once they interviewed.
What do you think?
