The 2006 Chrysalis Project will be taking place in Miami Beach, Florida. The project is designed to increase interest in the allergy and immunology specialty among full-time U.S. and Canadian medical students. Interested medical students are encouraged to apply for travel and housing grants to spend four days at the 2006 American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) Annual Meeting in Miami Beach, Florida - March 2-5, 2006. Top medical students from around the country are selected based on the following criteria: a letter of support from a faculty member at the applicant's institution, any research, publication or presentation experience, a current CV and a statement of career goals. Participants who are accepted into the program are paired with a Fellow-in-Training mentor, attend sessions designed specifically for medical students, and attend scientific workshops and symposia of their choice. Accommodations and airfare are provided to participants accepted in to the program as well as a stipend for ground transportation. The application deadline for the 2006 Chrysalis Project is November 15, 2005.
