ciao a tutti! ... I need some help please!!!
At the moment I am a student of the 2nd year of Pharmacy in Italy, but from sept of next year I'd like to study in U.S. ..... What should I do ??? Which is the best college/univ to apply to?
I already registered for the TOEFL exam (21 october), but I would like to transfer from my university (without throwing all exams I did!) ......
PLEASE HELP!!!

I understand it's very difficult to transfer from a foreign university to US. What I've read applies primarily to pharmacy graduates seeking licensure in the US. I haven't really heard of a foreign grad transferring mid-curricula. I'd start by looking at schools that take foreign grads and go from there. Perhaps look in licensure and exams at the FPGEE threads to see what they do. (Moved to prepharm as this involves enrolling in a pharmacy program within the US.)

I, too, am not sure about that route either. However, some schools do have a PharmD international program (i.e. NSU in Florida) that accepts students with pharmacy degrees (BS in pharmacy) from other countries. Of course that would mean that you'd have to finish your program in Italy, but this program is only 2.5 years. Here is the website if you are interested.

At OU, we have a French exchange student

Thank you. I'm not stupid. I was just trying to offer a possible option.

Perchè desiderate studiare qui? Tutto qui desidera andare in Italia!!! 😉

However, like FLPharm2Be mentioned...I think your best bet would be to finish pharmacy school in Italy, and then attend an International PharmD program here in the US. It is extremely rare for a program to accept a transfer student, so I can't imagine you'd have much luck transferring from out of the country.

Buena fortuna...and Go Forza!! 🙂

Italy is a very beautifull country, but I want to think about my future ;-) the problem is that after have taken the degree you'll not have a good salary (1250 Euro. the life here in Milan is very very very expensive) unless you don't have your own drugstore (to open it you have to spend not less than 2 billions of euro... Is the same there?)

Most of my classmates or Pharmacy students would like to go in another country too!

Thanks SpirivaSunrise, FLPharm2Be, Farmercyst I heard the same thing in italy about the program of florida, I'll try to find out more!
In case you have more advices for me or more question about Italy reply in my mailbox..... taz _ A @libero.it

NSU has a good international program; all of the students I spoke to when I was there seemed to really enjoy it. It's basicallly a scaled down verson of the regular 4-year PharmD program minus all of the basic sciences (so it's pretty much all of the clinical courses and then a year of rotations).

Good luck with school in Italy...and thank you again for fixing my typos...that's as close as I could get from Spanish to Italian. 😛 Sounds like we should just trade places and we'll both be happy 😉
