Hi guys!

I've used the search function to answer my question, but to no avail. Please forgive me if this concern has already been addressed.

I am planning to take the DAT later this month and I understand that there is an optional 15 minute break after the PAT section. I am also a heavy smoker. (Yes I understand it's a disgusting habit.)

I was wondering if it's allowed to bring in a pack of cigarettes, whether opened or unopened, to the prometric testing center. I understand that all of your belongings are placed in a locker prior to the actual exam, I'm wondering if you are allowed to bring smokes with you to store for use during the break.

If not are you allowed to perhaps go to your car during the 15 minute break?

Thank you!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you are allowed to go anywhere during the break (from what I remember)

This should answer your questions.

I don't think you can leave the building, just use a e-cigarette instead.

At my testing center you were allowed to leave the building during your break. But leave plenty of time to re enter the testing area because you will go through inspection process again.

I was also allowed to leave the building during my DAT break (I think). It made me anxious going back in and I had a mini heart attack thinking I misunderstood the directions. If you can't go into your locker idk why they would let you go outside where someone could potentially go into their car to look at notes. I still get anxious when I think about it lol

Best advice is just to ask an employee when you're checking in to be 100% sure or just play it safe and stay inside. Not really worth it to risk otherwise.
