Hi everyone, wonder if I could get some advice on my Step 2 stragey.
Background: UK IMG medical student, in my last year. Step 1: 234
Revision plan: finish world, annotate stuff into SUS2 and then read it. Then read Secrets. Looking to sit in CK mid Feb.

Getting a cumulative of 72% on world with 200 odd questions to go. Now I know that ain't a bad score, shooting for mid 250s to low 260s. What's bothering me is my variability. Get from anything from 63-89% per block on timed, random. Seriously, my graph looks like a zigzag.

What I don't want to do is have a bad run on the exam and hit a whole lot of low 60s. Any ideas on how to alter my revision to normalise my scores?

Exactly this.

The good news is you're doing well for having a month left to study. A zig-zag score chart means that you have a spotty overall medical knowledge (ie, strong in some topics, weak in others). Use this time to do exactly what you said, develop a basic understand of disease processes and algorithms, and go through as many uworld questions as you can again.

Thanks for your replies guys. Well, I should clarify, my two week christmas break (my dedicated study period) is now over so I am relying on part time stuff and weekends now. Not a true 4 weeks left situation! Can do about a block a day with review after hospital (on surgery now 👎).

So doing more questions is the key, is it worth cutting down on book time for it? Like, I feel after doing the bank, I want to read through my notes and the text to get my algorithms down...maybe focus my reading based on my weak areas on the World stats?

I think the best strategy would be to find out the gaps in your knowledge (based on the QBank) and read the concepts thoroughly from the reviews books to get a better understanding. AND then do more questions on that topic.
