Any suggestions of getting thru the long, long questions on CK?
On step 1 I struggled to finish all questions. i'm not sure if It was the length of the questions or me taking too long to answer them. I also hate reading from those monitors 😡

Anyway, any advise on getting through the question stem? I tried taking a speed reading course, but it was essentially garbage and it doesn't translate very well to computer screens.

Thanks for the help

Glance at the actual question and answer choices first, to see what kind of question it is, then read fast, focusing in things relevant to determining the answer. But the real key, I think, is just to improve your reading comprehension though. Which means doing lots of problems in a timed situation. The only way to really improve upon this is to do blocks of questions in the various question banks and try to finish earlier and earlier each time.

Read question first and then read the stem. Those stems are so long, but full of bullocks. Also do as many practice questions as fast as you can. This way, when you read, you can focus really hard when you actually read the stem. It trains yourself.

Often, I find that the stem gives a lot of subtle clues to what the answer is. Once you pick up on that, you just need to look for the answer among the choices.

And honestly, for step 1, I did not fatigue. I don't know why I'm one of like 100 students that didnt' feel tired after the test. Maybe it's adrenaline even after 3 hours of sleep? I don't know. But you just need to be mentally strong / prepared for the test. Plus, once you do many many practice exams over and over agin, you will not tire during step 2. My study days were like 15 hours long.
