ok, so I understand it as 5 years, with the first being a transitional year.

So would I be applying to a program with a 5 year package deal? (ie accepted to both at the same institution)

Or do I apply first for a transitional year, and then once again apply for Rads?

or can I simultaneously apply for both, complete my transitional year somewhere different from where I would be doing my actual Rads residency.

just trying to figure out how this works.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

uhm..not sure why the subject line reads ")ass"

my apologies!

you apply for both the post-graduate year 1, pgy-1 (prelim med/surg/transitional year) and pgy2-5 (radiology residency) at the SAME time. Some programs have it combined where you rank just one program for years 1-5, but majority are separate.
