Good Evening,

I am trying to figure out my schedule for the next couple of semesters and I am wondering if it seems OK to take Genetics and Cell Bio next semester and General Bio 2 the following semester? As a transfer student getting a second degree I am fine to take classes out of order, but do you think it will be fine if I take these classes first? The reason is because taking it this way fits my schedule and allows me to take all the courses I need in these semesters.

I would discuss it with your advisor and/or the professors. They would know if you’d drown or not. If your school structures gen bio like mine you get most to all that you need in the first section of gen bio for genetics and cell bio. I think you could do it personally!

Although this is one option, another potential option can be to check and see which professors will be teaching the classes that you are looking into, and then do some research on those professors from Ratemyprofessor or from students that have taken them previously. this way, you can potentially have a hard class but maybe it is an easy professor. Do some research in your school and ultimately make the decision yourself on if you think you will be interested in taking a big semester like that.
