Hey yall! I’m so excited to be going into my second year of vet school and I was looking for some advice for note taking and what to expect for some of my upcoming classes.

Parasitology is one of the classes I’m most nervous about. I’ve tried making tables to compare/info sheets for individual diseases in the past and nothing has ever really stuck. Looking to see if anyone has recommendations for this class specifically and also just general info/what to expect for some of my other classes (no syllabi are out yet)
Vet pathology, clin pathology, pharmacology, toxicology,

You're likely to get more useful answers asking people at whatever your program is, as they will have experience with the professors and be able to give you specific guidance.

Broadly, I think what helped me to do well in parasitology/virology/bacteriology, and something I regretted not figuring out sooner, was to study what made various organisms unique or different, rather than trying to memorize every single characteristic about all of them. My studying was a lot more productive that way.

Clin path is one where I think working through cases is the best way to make it gel in your brain. I really like the Sharkey workbook for going through cases and I highly recommend it (below). It's one of the few books I purchased during school and I went through every case in there.
