Found out today that I was accepted to NYCPM and received a scholarship as well. Def pleased about this!

EDIT: Interview last Thursday and heard back today...so it took a little less than a week to hear back.

Just heard like 10 min. ago from Scholl. Now I gotta sit down and make a pros/cons list of all the schools. It's most likely going to be between Scholl and DMU.

Also, what was the turn around time on hearing back from Scholl after your interview? A week? More? Less?

Yeh I have been all over the place this past 3 weeks LOL. Pretty much all the schools got back to me within a week. Scholl took exactly 8 days. But yeh I have a lot of thinking to do. I had my heart set on Scholl but the facilities at DMU just blew me away.

Goodluck studywithfury on all your interviews. Maybe I'll see you next year at scholl 👍

Has anyone been accepted w/ out the other health care professional letter? I really dont have time right now to shadow another pod as I work full time!

Why don't you start a new thread specifically for questions regarding Temple admissions? The chances of someone who has an answer for you randomly finding your question in the middle of this thread are probably not that high.

A few members on here agree with you. Its been said time and time again on these forums, though, and you'll hear the same thing when discussing residencies. It's not about which school is the best, or which school is popular. What really matters is where you, yourself, fit in the best. There are a lot of people that read this site that do not post, and I caution them to not follow the crowd just to follow the crowd. Every school has miserable students; I can tell you this because some posters on this site despise certain schools, probably because they are attending that school and failing. There is a lot more to each school than what is posted in these forums. For all we know, the people on here aren't who they say they are. Maybe they are even paid by admissions committees to recruit students haha. Interview where you can, talk to students at each school, and make an educated decision for yourself. Four years is a long time!

Congrats! I did interview with you. I was the asian guy. I am going to go with Scholl. DMU and Scholl are kinda hard to compare. They are too different. I'm going with Scholl because it just feels right. Also I'm pretty sure I want to stay in Illinois and Scholl got 22 out of the 27 residency spots in Illinois for the 2009 match.

I am a junior at a tier 1 university. I shadowed two podiatrist, participated in a 3-day summer internship, and eboard of several organizations in my school. However, in being so actively involved, my grades have sufferred and dropped to a 3.4 cGPA and a 3.2 sGPA. How would a sGPA of 3.0 affect my chances of getting into pod school? I'm expecting a MCAT score of above 25. Although pod school admissions is less competitive than MD/DO schools, can i student with a 2.9 science GPA still be offerred an interview?

Scoring well above the AACPMAS MCAT avg (MCAT score of 21) will make your chances of getting accepted to SOME of the Podiatric medical schools possible if you have under a 3.0 sGPA.

I would drop some of the ECs and focus more on school if I were you. The only ECs most Podiatric medical schools like are the ones that are healthcare related. Also it is not gauranteed that you will score above a 25 on the MCAT unless you already have. Therefore you should focus on improving your cGPA and sGPA as much as you can.
