How do you know your class rank? Is it released or do we ask for it ?

Usually, it is emailed from the registrars, after each year.

We were told quartiles and had to specifically ask for rank.

I still remember going to a classmate's house to hang out. A very nice DO student who for the record is now a board certified physician was there somewhat crying and getting drunk on wine. "They just had to go and tell me that I'm in the bottom quarter. I was perfectly happy not knowing my class rank!"

The truth hurts, but at least it was a wake up call before they went and try to gun for competitive specialties then ended up not matching.
