I unfortunately did not do well in my Orgo 2, receiving a C-. (As a side note, I have an A in biochem from this semester.) I am graduating in May and taking a year off before I apply to med schools. I am planning on retaking the Orgo 2 class this summer, however, it would be at a different school close to home (4 year private school with a pharmacy school). I understand that the grade from the retake is averaged into the amcas app as 3 additional credits, however, I am curious about how the admission committees will look at the retake being from a different school?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

I don't think adcomms will care that you retake it at another four-year school. I think there are some adcomms that wouldn't care if you retook at a CC, especially since you did well in Biochem. I wouldn't do the latter, however, if you have a choice, unless you know the policy on this issue of all the schools you plan to target. Also the four-year school is more likely to have greater rigor in its class (not universally true, BTW) which will prepare you better for the MCAT.
