I'm a freshman biochem major and I'm picking classes for next semester. My school requires us to take chem 1&2 before taking bio 1. I wanted to take bio 2 (which has no prereqs) but when I was signing up for classes the sections were closed, but they've recently added more seats. My sched right now has chem 2, physics 1, integral calc, and behavioral neuroscience (which isn't a requirement but after reading through the syllabus a bit I think I'd enjoy the class). Basically I can't decide if I should take bio 2 now (and drop behavioral nsc) or if I should wait until sophomore year. My only logic for waiting is that it would be closer to MCAT studying time so I wouldn't have to review quite as much since it would still be fresh (and I obviously don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to MCAT studying so feel free to correct me on that). I'm basically just bio deprived. I sit in the library and while I'm studying I hear other people talking about significantly more interesting bio topics than what I'm studying. Am I signing up for suicide by taking bio, chem, and physics in 1 semester? 😕

I think most people take Organic with Physics and upper Bio. I don't know you nor your study habits, but Chem 2, Bio 2, and Physics 1 wouldn't be the worst semester ever. I'd let something NOT THE BIO go for the Calculus, or put the Calculus off. Take Bio 2 in lieu of Neuro---it's a pre-req, the other is not. And it'll give you an idea of how much you can handle with 2 other time consuming classes, and you can add on or take off in the following semesters.
