Hi all,

I will be taking 2 pre-reqs (A&P II (retaking), Physics I) in the Fall 2015 and 1 class in the Spring 2016 (Physics II, Chem II (retaking))... I am currently taking 2 classes this summer that will end on Aug 9 (A&P I and BIO II)... I am planning on submitting my PTCAS application near the end of the summer term when grades are closer to being posted. Is this the right thing to do (in regards to waiting)?

My primary question is, does anyone have experience with multiple outstanding pre-reqs and had no luck getting into schools?

I know certain schools allow classes to be in progress as long as they are completed before the term would start, but I will have many that are pre-reqs and wanted to get a consensus

thanks in advanced

Most schools I've looked at have required that you have a certain number done ( a lot have been 5 of the 9 or something, depends on school) according to their website. I don't know if there is actually bias during the admissions process towards those students that may actually have the maximum allowable amount left.

Definitely wait until your summer grades are posted. Waiting until mid-August to submit probably won't hurt you anyway. Double-check with your schools about having 4 outstanding prereqs before you apply.

Wait until your summer grades are absolutely posted and you have the transcripts. My personal opinion is that depending on the schools you are applying too, it might not even be worth it to retake any classes in the fall and spring. For example, most of my schools made interview decisions by October and November. So their decision to give me an interview did not consider any fall classes. Unless you are applying to schools with much later interview decisions, a "retake in progress" is a waste of time and money (again, my opinion only). Yes, of course you still have to take any incomplete pre reqs.

The biggest issue I see with your application is you don't have either physics complete by time of application (unless you have later deadlines and can submit later) That's a negative factor but hopefully balanced by other application factors.
