So far these are the main science and math classes that I have taken in college:

gen chem 1 and 2
bio 1 and 2
physics 1 and 2
calc 1
microbio
A and P
human physio
orgo 1 and 2

I will be starting pharm school this fall and I want to better prepare myself for the rigorous program. Besides biochem, what other classes do you suggest I take in the summer to better prepare myself?

Immunology, genetics, molecular and cellular bio, public speaking, or psychopharmacology/any intro pharmacology if you can find it. All of these classes have been very helpful for me as a P1.

If you really want to take classes, then look into Genetics and Immunology. You might also want to look into starting work as a technician, and then making the transition to become an intern once you get your intern license after school starts.

I definatly think that becoming a technician is one of the most beneficial things to do before pharm school. It gives a a sense to the many questions a pharmacist is asked on a day by day basis and how you can actually even relate pre pharm classes to the questions being asked. also, its good to get a jump on learning the brands and generics of meds which saves you time while in pharm school. When taking the pre pharm classes, don't slack and take the easy classes, for example, my university offers a 100 level microbio course and a 400 level...whats the point in the 100 level if your going to take grad school micro, you might as well prepare yourself.

Thanks.

Would you guys also recommend taking Histology if possible?

Not over the other recommendations, no.

Become a technician if you are going to get a job. Find out when you are considered an intern in your state, because if it is at the beginning of your P1 year, it may be a waste to pay to be a certified tech. I think you can achieve some of the drug familiarity that you could get from a tech position by reading and talking to people you know who take medication (not too tough!).

I would highly recommend refreshing your Physiology via books, videos, etc.
