Anyone want to explain to me the difference in Median and Ulnar nerve injuries and the effects on 'clawing'....FA 2009 seems contradictory...

on p. 344 "pope's blessing" is due to ulnar nerve injury resulting in claw hand of the 4th and 5th digits

on p. 343 it says "pope's blessing" is due to a distal lesion for the median nerve

on p. 344 is says distal median nerve injury results in 2nd and 3rd digit clawing...

maybe im missing something but I am confused...

is it related to p. 344 how a person would present without asking them do do certain movements and on p. 343 having to do with telling the patient to 'flex' their fingers? I may have just answered my question but input would be appreciated.
