Does anyone know about what Clemsons undergrad animal science pre vet program is like??? I'm interested but want to know what schools think when I apply to vet school.

Thanks

I am a freshman at Mississippi State's vet school, and I have quite a few Clemson grads in my class because we are South Carolina's contract school. I personally did not attend, but I know that they got a lot of hands-on animal training through whatever programs they followed. I know it was really competitive between the pre-vets at Clemson to get the few contract spots here, and the majority of SC students chosen are indeed Clemson grads, I've noticed....

sorry not much help in actual facts!

Side note, one of my lab partners was an Animal Science major (I believe, but could be wrong...) at Clemson and she even had a class involved with helping a cow give birth.

yeah, I'm from mt. pleasant and most of my friends go to clemson. i think that most pre-vets in sc come form clemson (it is the best pre-vet program in the state). i know you take lots of hands on expereice classes. I however went a different route. i knew I wanted to go out of state, so i went to the best school i got into. My small liberal arts school has a very good pre-med curriculum which you can taylor to pre-vet. And they have gotten every pre-vet into vet school once they have applied for the last 15 years. So I went the liberal arts route but I don't think they really care when you apply to vet school.

Good Southern college football. Isn't that what matters when picking an undergrad? That and the scholarships/finacial aid incentives.
