hey guys,

well im getting ready to transfer out to a 4 year university from my community college...i have damn good GPA here and want to continue that at my university. last semester i had to drop all my classes due to my dad having open heart. i needed to support and take care of my family. now in trying to get back in the game this semester but could only afford 9 hourse. would it look bad if i took some CLEP exams so i dont fall behind? i was thinking of taking 2-3 CLEP exams so that way ill end up with 15-18 hours this semester rather then just 9. how do med schools look at CLEP exams on ur transcricts? should i do it? im pretty confident on myself that i will do really good on these examinations. anyways input and acvice will be greatly appreciated. thanks guys!!!!

I've taken 20 credits worth of English CLEP tests and have several interviews at many different tiered schools - they don't appear to be an issue.

that good to hear...i just hope that meds schools dont look at this as an easy way out...

Clep is pass or no pass, but how about other exams like dantes or excelsior? I took an excelsior exam and got a C. Do medical schools factor those scores into GPA? Or do they only care about grades from the classroom?

yes, i would like to know this too

I found out on the aamc website that dantes and clep scores don't effect the GPA, but can't find anything on excelsior exams. Anyone know about excelsior exams affecting GPA for medical school?

I know this thread is old, but I didn't want to make a new one for the same topic.

I took the CLEP exam for Biology and earned 7 hours of biology (2 three credit hour classes and 1 one credit hour lab) do I still need to take one hour of biology lab to fulfill the premed requirements?
