Clinical Experience (ACA)? + other questions

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is an ACA health navigator working in a clinic considered clinical experience? I help the uninsured apply for medicaid + SNAP + marketplace health coverage. I geared towards this job because it pays more than an EMT and I needed the finances to pay for this upcoming cycle along with medical school (crosses fingers). I have also heard from other people that potential ad com (Doctors) who are not too fond of the ACA would give personal bias against me?

Last question! The only volunteering I really have is at a third world country teaching English and volunteering at the local hospitals. I have considered volunteering at close hospitals but could never push myself to commit. It seemed like such a waste of time as they had me push in chairs and pack ice for 4 hours the first time I tried my sophomore year.

How much volunteering have you had in the hospital?

100 hours spread over a month @AlteredScale

I think you've had a good amount of clinical experience. But I wouldn't consider your current position to be clinical.

Weather you are applying this year (June 1 2015) or next year (June 1 2016), I would suggest trying to do some clinical work here at home. Even if it's 3-4 hours a week. Even though the position duties may be lame, you have to sacrifice a bit. Do your best to interact with patients and not just follow the job description to the T.

Can anyone else provide input on the personal bias against people supporting the ACA?
