Hey all,
I will be applying this June, get my MCAT back on Friday but i wanted to run some of my clinical experiences by you to get ideas and thoughts.
By the time I apply, I will have
120-150 hours of volunteering at a hospital
40-50 hours of shadowing (primary care, anesthesia, ENT)
EMT-B certification
40-50 hours over the course of 3 months at a free clinic
I plan on either becoming a scribe over my GAP year or working as a health coach through my university's medical school where we educate newly diagnosed patients with diabetes, hypertension, etc about healthy lifestyle choices.
I will create a WAMC thread when i get my MCAT score Friday but I am just trying to get an idea of what i should do next quarter. Do i try and cram as many hours as i can in at the hospital?
