Hi, it is my understanding that med schools and PA programs are now requiring an extensive number of clinical hours. How are individuals finding these positions? Are people finding them on indeed.com, getting them from college career counselors, or is there another source? I’m a mohs surgeon looking to hire motivated assistants. I know that they might only be available for a gap year, but it would be a great opportunity for anyone interested.

Many students do this either via volunteering or formal work (most commonly via scribing), but I'm sure there are many other less well-traveled ways to get clinical experience.

If you wanted to try and get eager pre-meds to work with you, perhaps reach out to the pre-health office of a local university and let them know of the opportunity.

I think people with previous work experience (in any field) would be familiar with Indeed. That's where I found my current job as an ophthalmic assistant. Reaching out to local universities would also be a very good idea.
