Hey everyone,
So I'm wondering if holding a job as a pharmacy tech at Walgreens counts as clinical experience? I worked as a pharmacy tech during undergrad but haven't done anything clinical since graduation. I'm setting up volunteering at a hospital and maybe at a homeless shelter as well, but just want to know if the job I held counts for something because I was indeed in contact with patients who were sick.
Thanks

I know there are some that offer the minute clinic (maybe CVS) and if walgreens does the same then YES I would count it as clinical experience. If you are pushing the cash register all day... not so much.

I entered and filled prescriptions as well as worked the cash register.

Can you get off this thread please and go study or something

That's the risk you take when you post so many new threads! You should definitely take advantage of the search function. If it were one person commenting, they could just be annoying, but when there have been different people on EVERY thread you make asking you to reign it in a little and think more before posting...you might want to consider taking their advice.

Anyway, I'd put it on the app as a paid position and let them take it as they want. As far as I know there are 'clinical' and 'non-clinical' volunteer sections and then a 'work experience' section, so you don't have to worry about classifying it yourself. Putting it on there is better than NOT putting it on there, and the rest is up to them!

Did they cough on you? Then it is clinical experience.
