Hey guys. I’ve got a question.
I’ll be starting my clinical years in about a month, and I’m pretty stoked about it, except for one thing which is bugging me: What and how much do I study?
In pre-clinical years, we had study guides, lectures etc, but in clinical years, all we are getting are ward rounds, some TBLs (task based learning), minor lectures, talks etc. There are supposedly study guides which are very vague.
So, we can either over study which will give you no life, or under study which will make you fail. The failure rate is pretty high for every posting be it surgery or pediatrics.
So, my question is, how much, what and how deep do I need to study? What will be my guide? First aid books?
Thanks!

It all depends on what you're doing. I started out with OP Family Med and IM. I studied Medicine Blueprints leisurely. Then I moved into the hosiptal, and there was zero time for studying. So I still looked into Blueprints, with a smattering of PreTest books. I discovered the Clinical Case books in Surgery, and love them. Yet, now that there's three weeks left til my fourth year, I spend most of my spare time watching TV, sleeping, reading nonmedical stuff...
