I was offered an unpaid clinical research opportunity. Total of 8-10 hrs/wk. Should I do this? I want to do research in a lab, but I was unable to get into one this semester. Sounds like a good opportunity except for:
1) I am broke and would like a source of income. Doing this would keep me from getting a job.
2) The responsibilities are mainly clerical (more like office assistant, although i was assured i would get some patient contact)

Should I do this instead of getting a job?

I wouldn't do it unless there is a chance you'll end up with a publication out of it, otherwise it seems like a huge waste of time to me. You'd be better off finding a paid research experience where you are more involved.
