Hi, I'm trying to figure out which schools are heavily involved in research and which ones are primarily clinical schools. Any information on schools or where to look would help. Thanks.

i think most schools try to do both (research and clinical ed) at same or varying levels. i guess it is fair to say that most d-schools are primarily clinically oriented and then secondarily research oriented. then there's a few that are primarily research oriented (highly academic schools); for the latter, Harvard, Columbia, and UCLA come to my mind. in the other extreme of the spectrum, loma linda, buffalo, arizona, nova, baylor, and marquette.
and then there are those who do both to the same degree: here, i think of NYU, Stony, UCSF, UMD, Penn, and Tufts. there are others off course.
From what I've heard (people on these forums and people at these schools), Tufts, Arizona, USC, and Nova are very clinical oriented with much less of an emphasis on research. Still though, research will be going on wherever you go, I hear Nova is becoming more research based, but can't back it up...just what I've heard.
