how is your school in regards to social network? is it a bunch of different cliques or is everyone pretty much good friends with everybody?

It's like Mean Girls, except not nearly as hot.

In terms of cliques... Medical School= High School

In theory, you "could" get along w/ everybody, but that usually doesn't happen.

Hi there,
We were all pretty tight as a class. We kind of studied in groups related to ethnicity but we hung together pretty much. Some of the students with families didn't party with us all of the time but we were very supportive of each other.

Yes, sometimes we acted like juveniles but most of the time we were cool with each other. We had a couple of folks that were just plain crazy and one guy (MD/Ph.D candidate) that we voted "Most likely to blow us away with an ouzi" so were were happy when he left our class and went into the lab.

njbmd 🙂

I think for the most part we get along with everybody but that's cause we have so many little faculty traditions here. Like the first years and second years have regular sports competitions during the year so we tend to come together cause the bragging rights are huge here. Then at the end of the year the preclin years sqaure off against the clin years at med sports day. This year preclin won for the first time in ages and now no one can stop talkng about it. The lecturers make it sound like the end of the world because we broke the clin record.

And of course there's "Smoker" - which used to be a one night talent show done by the 3rd years but is now one of the biggest theatrical events on campus. Smoker 2006 (to be done by my class) is now a huge musical that runs for a week with all the money going to charity. If we didn't have these things to do people would just go to class then go home but we kind of have to work together and get to know each other if we want to pull everything off.

cliques left and right...can't wait to graduate.

cliques are for emotionally insecure people.
